    What is Life Coaching?

    Life coaching helps you anchor your goals to your values and to God’s plan & purpose in your life - or learn what that purpose is! It is NOT counseling. I am not a counselor or therapist.

    Have you ever wanted to change, intended to make changes, tried to change, but fallen short every time? We all fall short of the glory of God, but He has given us the power and authority to be different! Maybe you just need a more tangible road map for how to effect that change. Maybe you need accountability. That is where God’s purpose and plan for my life can intersect with yours if you’re ready to start.

    What is Positive Psychology?

    It is not some new-age, feel-good doctrine. Positive psychology is Biblically-aligned. We will focus on whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, or praiseworthy; we’re going to discuss where those show up in your life. We think and talk about the fruits of the spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness, and self-control - then we will work on accessing yours and maintaining your focus on these fruits. Christian coaching is based on these principles. Together, we will use a strengths-based approach to focus on your God-given, living-in-you strengths, to remind you who you are in Jesus, overcome spiritual warfare adversity, and to flourish!

    I've prayed for God to change me, to help me change, before; what makes working with you any different?

    The world is full of wounded people looking for people who have scars. A lot of my life I have wondered “Why me, God? Why so much on my plate?” I’ve learned that it is because people who have been through hell are supposed to walk out of the flames carrying buckets of water for those still consumed by the fire.

    I’ve trained in (and am still continuing to study) neurolinguistic programming and cognitive behavioral techniques. Neuro-based coaching integrates cognitive neuroscience, positive psychology, and these behavioral techniques to help you apply them in a way that you can actually use them. My thirty-year nursing background taught me about the discovery of neuroplasticity, the fact that the way you think can physically alter your brain at the neurochemical level and reverse previous damage done by unhealthy thought patterns. When you think different thoughts and learn to pray with your God-given authority in His name, you will develop a different neurochemistry, feelings, and outcomes as a result. God made our brains the way they are - complicated because His thoughts are higher than our own; science helps us understand how to work within His will to overcome mental challenges.
